Nitrous Oxide

This is the use of an inhaled gas to provide you with increased comfort and relaxation during your procedure. The gas is administered through a nasal apparatus (mask) and is carefully monitored and adjusted by the clinician so that it is individually tailored to your needs on the day. Again, local anaesthetic is also utilised as an adjunctive agent during the procedure.
Please be aware that all three of these methods are providing you with a comfortable and pain free experience and can be combined. Please discuss these options with the receptionist when making your appointment so that arrangements can be made to have these products available for your procedure. If you are considering a general anaesthetic (asleep) for your procedure, please ask your dentist to refer you directly to a Maxillofacial Surgeon, as this requires an admission to hospital.
